NBA: A REVISION (This article is available in English and Español)

After diverse football´s articles, now it is time to talk about other sports, like basketball, since there are many news in the main important competitions of the world, the Nba and the Euroleague. This article is dedicated to review the situation in the Nba, cause there are many news produced during this year 2008.

Pau Gasol is the main name during this 2008 in the NBA, cause he has finally left the Memphis Grizzlies in order to play in a team with aspirations, the legendary Los Angeles Lakers. We think that this transaction is very good for Pau Gasol, because we believe that his Grizzlies´s period was concluded, since the player did not seem happy in that uncompetitive team, since Pau Gasol had only one good player playing with him, the excellent shooter Mike Millar, since for example, Rudy Gay is a good player for the future, but at this moment he is too young and he should learn many thing in order to be a “basketball´s star”. Moreover, many Grizzlies´s supporters shouted against Pau Gasol last season, when there were transaction´s rumours, so it was not the best situation in order to play well and in fact Pau Gasol´s game was stagnant with the same plays and being the only option to score. Now we will see the Grizzlies´s future, which at the moment is not too promising, because the owner wants to sell the team and it is decreasing the numbers of fans, who go to the FedEx Forum to see a Grizzlies ´s game, so it is possible that the franchise will go to another city- this fact also can happen with the Seattle Supersonics-.

Well, as we have said, Pau Gasol left a team without any aspirations to play in a great team with many chance to win the NBA´s title, because Los Angeles Lakers has an excellent team in all the positions and it has, with Pau Gasol´s arrival, its particular "Big three", composed by the super-star Kobe Bryant (27.8 points per game), Lamar Odon (10 rebounds per game) and Pau Gasol. Moreover the Lakers has, at the moment, good players, as the guards: the experienced Derek Fisher-11 years as professional player and he has an excellent shot-or the Slovenian Sasha Vujanic –he also has an excellent shot- or the young Jordan Farman; as forwards, players like Luke Walton -son of the legendary Bill Walton-, or the Serbian Vladimir Radmanovic- he also has a good shot-; and as centers, the French player Ronny Turiaf, who always has a smile and he always carries out his functions. But besides Phil Jackson-our "Lord of the Rings" (9 times champion of the Nba) – will have a stronger team when he can use some players, who are in the injury´s list like the forward Trevor Ariza or the centers, Chris Mihn and the magnificent Andrew Bynum, who is a powerful player (13 rebounds per game) and everybody wants his comeback in order to see together Pau Gasol and Bynum, since they can be the best couple of the league.

Gasol´s transaction has produced some consequences, since on the one hand, Lakers is now a stronger team and it is in the First position in the Pacific´s Division (Lakers has a record of 9-1 with Gasol),and on the other hand, the rest teams of the Western conference have taken the decision to strengthen the team in order to have a competitive squad. So, we have seen significant movements during these days as the powerful and determinant center Shaquille O'Neal-15 times All-Star-, who has arrived to Phoenix Suns from Miami Heat( Suns changed a good player like Shawn Marion for O´Neal, we will see if Shawn Marion will remain in Miami next season),or the imaginative guard Jason Kidd, who has left the New Jersey Nets to play in Dallas Mavericks with the sensational Dirk Nowitzki, or the San Antonio Spurs´s transactions, since it signed good players like Damon Stoudamire, who is an experienced guard, or the competitive center Kurt Thomas, who arrived from Seattle Supersonics.

In all these transactions, we think that the best movement is Pau Gasol`s arrival, cause now Kobe Bryant will play, knowing that there is another player, who can assume the responsibility in the difficult moments of a game. Moreover, Kobe can be calm about who will be the Lakers´s leader, since Pau Gasol will not discuss this role and it will not be any problem about it and therefore the squad will be united, which is essential in order to be a serious candidate to be NBA´S champion.
The other significant transactions, O'Neal and Kidd, show some doubts, as both are very old players and we will be see if Saquille can play in the frantic Sun´s play and if Jason Kidd carries out Mark Cuban´s expectation, since he played very irregular this season with New Jersey Nets.
Anyway, the true is that after all these movements we will see a spectacular western conference´s final, since there are many team(Lakers, Spurs, Mavericks, Suns, New Orlean Hornets of the superb guard,Chris Paul, Utah Jazz of Jerry Sloan and Carlos Boozer, Denver Nuggets of Carmelo Anthony (26.2 points per game) and Allen Iverson (26.6 points per game), or Houston Rockets of Yao Ming and T-Mc Grady)with options to be the Western Conference´s Champion and play the NBA´s final against Boston Celtics ( this team was the favourite, after it formed this summer its "Big Three" (Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen ) or Detroit Pistons- a very competitive team with players as Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton, Rasheed Wallace or Taysahaun Prince- or the strengthened Cleveland Cavaliers (Now Lebron James can shot with more calmness, since he has in the squad a player like Ben Wallace, who is one of the best defensive players of the league, and besides “King James” will be helped by “shooters” as Wally Szczerbiak, who just arrived to Dany Ferry´s franchise, after a multi-transaction of 11 players)or our last candidate, the Orlando Magic of the powerful center Dwight Howard and the good forward Turkish Hedo Turkoglu.
Finally, we want to speak about Gilbert Arenas´s commentators about the Spanish guard Jose Manuel Calderon, because Arenas criticized the Toronto Raptors ´s guard, saying that the possible inclusion of Calderon in the All-Star Game is a joke. The truth is that we were surprised about these commentators about the level of a player, who is playing very well this season and he is showing that he has a place in the Nba as an important player, since this season he has assumed the responsibility and leadership of the Toronto Raptors´game , after TJ Ford´s injury, being a fundamental player for Toronto along with the phenomenal Chris Bosh. The numbers do not deceive: more than 20 double-double until this moment during this season (10 or more points and 10 or more assists in a game), Rank 5th in the NBA in assists per game, rank 9th in the NBA in the Fiel-goal´s percentage,Rank 8th in the NBA in 3-points Fiel-goals´s percentage, Rank 1 in the Nba in free throw´s percentage,Rank 5th in the NBA in Assist, Rank 4th in the NBA in assists per 48 minutes, Rank 1 in the NBA in Assists per turnovers, Rank 20 in the NBA in Efficiency Ranking per 48 minutes(if we speak about your efficiency, Gilbert, it seems that your team, Washington Wizards, does not need you too much, since it is in the 6 position of the Eastern Conference, so it is in Play-off´s zone )What do you think about these numbers? Can Calderon be an all-star? Well, I suppose that for you, it is necessary to shot 37 times during a game in order to be an All-star.But, Gilbert, do you know what is basketball? It is a Collective sport. And the All-stars game? It is game in order to reward the players, who are playing well, helping their team to be a competitive team during the season and therefore a player who is playing well, must be in the All-Stars game and it does not matter if he shows more or less spectacle, since if we only want spectacle, we already have the Harlem Globetrotters, What do you think? If we follow your theory, why did you not criticize the presence of a defensive player like Ben Wallace when he played these games? In short…No comment…I think that you should be to see more respectful with your rivals and please, do not undervalue a world champion, as Jose Manuel Calderon (it is funny that you do this thing, cause you wear number 0 because of the number of minutes his detractors said he would get at the University of Arizona).
Cheers,

NBA: UN REPASO DE LA SITUACION (This article is available in English and Español)

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: CELTIC GLASGOW (This article is available in English and Español)

Now it is time to speak about the last rival in the Champions League of the Spanish League´s teams. So, it is Celtic Glasgow´s time, since it will play against FC Barcelona next Wednesday in Celtic Park. We think that, a priori, it is an unbalanced eliminatory, cause we understand that FC Barcelona will pass to next round without many troubles, since the Scottish team play different if it plays at home or away. Celtic shows a poor image when it play without the incredible Celtic Park´s atmosphere. In fact, Celtic has lost all the Champions League´s games when it has played far from Celtic Park, and for example when it played in San Siro against AC Milan(Celtic had options to finish in the first position of the group), Celtic played horrible, without ambition, scared, and of course it lost that game against a poor AC Milan. We hope that the team of Gordon Strachan, when it will play in Camp Nou´s stadium, play with another mentality, cause if it plays as AC Milan´s game, FC Barcelona will win easily and without resistance, and it would not be good for the spectacle.

Celtic presents a good block, with experienced players in all its lines, except its defensive line, since we think it is the weakest line of the team, since the Polish goalkeeper Artur Boruc, although he usually has solvent actions, he occasionally commits incomprehensible mistakes for a high level´s goalkeeper –he sounds as a possible ACMilan´s goalkeeper for next season-. Moreover, he also is not helped by his defensive line – !!! the defensive line was lamentable against AC Milan!!! -.Gordon Strachan plays with 4 defenders, who are hard players without many technical quality. Two players will be sure against FC Barcelona: the left back Lee Naylor and the central defender Stephen McManus (10 games with the Scottish National Team).Strachan is thinking about the other 2 players, since the right back Andreas Híkel, who signed with Celtic during the last transfer´s period, can not play this competition, since he played with Fc Sevilla some Champions League´s game during this season. We think that Gary Caldwell (25 games with Scottish National Team), who can play as a central defender or right back, will play as a right back and the central defender will be or Dianbobo Balde or Steven Pressley, both veteran players and with a lot experience-we think that Gordon Strachan will choose Dianbobo Balde, cause he played the Africa´s Cup with Guinean National team, instead Pressley has not played any official game since December,so it can be dangerous to play with him, cause he is without competition´s rhythm.

On the other hand, we should say that we like the midfielder´s players, specially the Celtic´s key player,Shunsuke Nakamura. The Japanese star, who is now a mature player- he was 3 season in the Italian league, playing with la Reggina -.He is free to do anything in the pitch and to play in anyplace, although he usually plays as right midfielder. He is a player with a lot of technique-specially with his left leg-,with a great vision of the game and a great shot-it will be very dangerous Nakamura´s free-kick for FC Barcelona-.Moreover, Nakamura is helped with 2 good players, who play behind him: The experienced Italian Massimo Donati, who should contain rival´s play, and Scott Brown, who has the function of organize Celtic´s play. The fourth midfielder is a skill and quick player,Aiden Mc Geady, who is an interesting winger, since he can play as right or left winger and he has a lot of quality to dribble and to make a good pass or to score many goals( he has scored this season 7 goals in the Scottish League and 1 goal in the Champions League-the decisive goal in the last minute of the game against Benfica-).So, FC Barcelona´s defenders must be careful with this young player-he is only 21 year´s old-, who has played 15 games with Irish national team and who will be important in this eliminatory, since he should do good passes to the two good Celtic´s strikers, Jan Vennegoor of Heeslink and Scott McDonald.

As we said, Celtic has a good attack, with two players, who are complement each other. Venegoor is the reference in the area, he is a strong and powerful striker, with a lot of experience-he scored many goals with PSV and with the National team of Netherlands-. He is player with a lot of “smell” and he can score anytime (14 goals in the Scottish league), so the rival´s defenders must be careful when Jan is playing. This Vennegoor´s attention is used by the other forward, the Australian Scott Mcdonald. He, who is a young striker, arrived last summer to Celtic after 3 excellent seasons with Motherwell (41 goals in 3 seasons). He is playing very well this season, using his constant mobility, intelligence, smell, being always in the right place and of course, scoring (18 goals in 22 league´s game). So, FC Barcelona´s defender must be careful with them, who have a good substitute in the bench, the young Greek Giorgios Samaras.

Therefore, we can conclude that although Celtic has a correct team, we think that it will not be enough to defeat FC Barcelona, specially if we can see in the squad “the 4 magnificent”(Etoo'o, Ronaldinho, Messi and Thierry Henry).
Moreover, Celtic has another problem, cause the players, who are in the bench,as the Japanese Kozi Mizuno,or the former Dundee United´s star Barry Robson, are good players, but without many experience in this kind of games, since there are long games, with many alternatives and of course it is necessary good options in the bench.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: CELTIC GLASGOW (This article is available in English and Español)

Cheers,

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: AS ROMA (article available in Spanish)

After the Fenerbahçe´s analysis, now it is time to do the same with AS Roma, which is going to play an exciting first knockout round against another classic of world, the Spanish giant, Real Madrid. We will watch games with many equality, cause both teams have a good squad. Nevertheless, we think that Real Madrid is the favourite in order to play next round, since the Italian team has a weaker defensive line, and it is sure that Real Madrid´s forwards will make use of this factor.

As we say, we believe that the AS Roma´s defensive aspect is the worst of this “squadra”-it has actually received 22 goals in 22 Seria A´s games and 6 goals in 6 Champions League´s games-, and this is because it does not have an excellent goalkeeper, since Doni is not the adequate goalkeeper for a top team at this moment, since he has not the necessary safety and sobriety, that a top team needs. Of course he has not committed big mistakes like his compatriot, Dida-finally Ancelotti has taken a good decision and now Kalac is the first goalkeeper of the team-, but we think that AS Roma needs another goalkeeper if it wants to be a competitive team. Moreover, the Brazilian goalkeeper is not helped by his defensive line, because players such as the irregular Matteo Ferrari, the young Portuguese Antunes, the offensive right back Cicinho are quite erratic and unreliable, and they can show the best or the worst during a game. However, if we talk about defensive irregularity, we must speak about an overvalued central defender, the French Philippe Mexès. Sincerely, I do not know why he has a “big name”, because since his Auxerre´s period, he has shown what he is, he is a player with great technique and “ball´s control”, but he is extremely soft -as another French player, Benoit Pedretti, who was considered as a future “star” some years ago-, and a central defender can have many quality, but of course it is essential that he is a strong and tough player, because otherwise a team can be in the same situation as AS Roma-1 goal received per game and it has not won any game played against a top team during this season like Juventus, Inter, Fiorentina and Manchester United ( the only exception is the victory against AC Milan in October, but it is not remarkable, because AC Milan did not win any Serie A ´s game in San Siro during that period)-. So, we suppose that Luciano Spalleti, with this background, will trust in players with experience and defensive rigour as Max Tonetto, Cassetti and Christian Panucci, who is playing a good level with Roman team and with Italian National Team-he scored the decisive goal in the important game between Italy and Scotland-.Because if Spalleti do not do it,players like Robben, Guti, Raul, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Wesley Sneijder or Julio Baptista may have many facilities and do much damage.

Instead, Real Madrid must take care with the Roman midfielders, because they are players with a lot of quality, forcefulness and experience. AS Roma is an atypical team, because Spalleti usually plays without a “9” and he uses 6 midfielders, having a powerful line. There are hardworking midfielders like Simone Perrota, the “hard” Daniele De Rossi and Chilean David Pizarro. These three players have the function of contain the rival´s play, but it does not mean that they are players without quality, since they are players with good technique, especially the Chilean Pizarro, who is the playmaker of the team. Alongside these players, Spalleti have many options, but he usually opts for the Mancini´s skill-this player began his career as a right back and now he plays as left winger, although he sometimes plays as a right winger or central offensive midfielder- and for the quality and mobility of the Brazilian Rodrigo Taddei-who has a big name in the Italian Serie A after good seasons at Siena-and of course for the great Francesco Totti, who brings 16 seasons at AS Roma, scoring more than 160 goals in Serie A.Totti is simply a brilliant player, he is able to decide a match in any moment. Obviously Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Fabio Cannavaro and Heinze should take care of the actions of this marvellous player. In the bench, Luciano Spalleti has good players as the French right winger Ludovic Guily, the central midfielder Aquiliani or the right midfielder Matteo Brighi.

Lastly, we must speak about the Roman attack, since although Luciano Spalleti prefers to play without a “9”,as I said before, it does not mean that the Roman´s strikers are bad, since AS Roma has 2 very interesting players: Mauro Esposito and Mirko Vucinic. Esposito, who is a player of the Italian National Team, is a player with great mobility and he arrived to AS Roma after he played good seasons at Cagliar(at the time it was a rumour about the possible interest of FC Barcelona about this player. The Montenegrin Mirko Vucinic is a player, who had an excellent work at Lecce, but here in Roma, he has not shown his potential and he has scored only 4 goals in 2 seasons. But he is a good and young player, and we believe that he will be a key player very soon. To Sump up, AS Roma has good midfielders, but we will see whether it will be enough to compensate for its defensive problems and thus be able to defeat Real Madrid- the Spanish team is in an excellent moment and it have, possibly, the best goalkeeper of the work at this moment, Iker Casillas, who compensates the mistakes of the Real Madrid´s defensive midfielders-the irregular Mamadou Diarra and the slow Fernando Gago-.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: AS ROMA

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: FENERBAHÇE (this article is available in Spanish)

In this article we start our analysis of the different games in the first knockout round of the Champions League. Today we will focus on Sevilla FC´s rival, a Turkish team, Fenerbahçe Istambul. The truth is that it presents a very open eliminatory without-under our point of view, a clear favourite, as the Istanbul´s team has a very solid block with good individualities in all the lines.
Fenerbahçe is doing a good season until this moment, sine it only lost 3 official games-2 in the Turkish league and the other in the Champions league, in San Siro, against Inter-,being really a dangerous team when it plays supported by its brave fans of the Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium, which is a real “pressure cooker” –it is normal when you are in a Turkish stadium, as Galatasaray's Ali Sami Yen or Inönü of Besiktas, to give some examples-, and in this stadium is where we think that the eliminatory can be decided, because if Sevilla FC does not get a good result in its away game, it will have many difficulties in order to mend the elimantory in its Sanchez Pizjuán´s stadium, as the turkish team has a good defensive line and with players like Alex or Deivid, Fenerbaçhe can be very dangerous.

As we have said, Zico, the brazilian coach of Fenerbahçe,-he uses a 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 system- has a lot of players with a good level in all lines, as the goalkeeper Volkan Demirel- he is the habitual goalkeeper of the Turkish National teams-, who offers full guarantees, since he is a very sober and secure goalkeeper. Moreover, he is also helped by a very experienced defensive line, formed by players like the Uruguayan central defender Diego Lugano, which is accompanied by the Brazilian Central defender Edu Dracena-he is a player of verde-amarela team-.The owner of the right back is Gókan Gönül, who is a player of the Turkish national team-signed this season for 1.5 million euros from Genclerbirligi- and of course, we must mention a classic of the international football during the last decade, Roberto Carlos, who is playing in a good level, although we must remember that he is 34 year´s old and of course he can not run as he was accustomed to do.
In the bench, there are also players with experience and forcefulness as the versatile Deniz Baris, who has played more than 20 games with Turkish national team and can occupy any defensive position, or Önder Turaci- he is an interesting under 21 Belgian right back- or the Brazilian nationalized Turkish, Gökcek Vederson, which is the responsible to assist Roberto Carlos.

Midfielders: The Turkish team has a mixture of containment and hard players with other imaginative players with a high quality. In the first style, we should point out the Brazilian, nationalized Turkish, Mehmet Aurelio-which we have spoken more than once, as a possible Valencia CF ´S new player-, who never loses his position and he is a great destroyer of the rival game. For this mission, Mehmet will have a big assistant, since Fenerbahhçe has signed a very good defensive midfielder, the Chilean Claudio Maldonado. Both will be an excellent couple and the rivals will have many difficulties in order to overcome these two good defensive midfielders, especially if Zico adds another midfielder like Selcuk Sahin – player of the Turkish National team-, who is a tough player- this season, he has already seen 6 yellow cards in 13 league´s games-, or portentous Stephen Appian, who may not play against Sevilla, as he is injured for the rest of season.

But the key player of the team is another Brazilian, Alex, who plays as offensive midfielder. He is an excellent, marvellous player, sice he is very technical, with a great vision of the game and with a tremendous punch- he has scored more than 60 goals in 3 and a half seasons-. Therefore, Sevilla must defend with great concentration, trying not to make mistakes on the edge of the area, because it is clear the Ottoman danger with the free-kicks, either with the power of Roberto Carlos or with the quality of Alex, who ends his contract with Fenerbaçhe in 2009, so it is possible that we can see an Alex´s transfer during next summer, although he has the problem of his age, since he is 30 year´s old, but If I have a team, I will sign this player-48 games with Brazilian National team- sure, because he is a phenomenon with the ball in his left feet. Moreover, we should mention Ali Bilgin-a right midfielder- and Ugur Boral –player of the Turkish national team international, Kemal Aslan- an offensive midfielder- and the left offensive midfielder, Gürhan Gürsoy
Finally, we will refer to the forwards of the team, being the main danger the Turkish national team´s player Semit Sentürk, who is a strong striker with a good “scorer sense of smell”. He is always in the right place and he shots with both legs or with his head. Alongside Sentürk, Sevilla´s defenders must be careful with the mobility of the Brazilian Deivid de Souza, who is a very skillful striker, and this year, he is scoring a number worthy of goals, remembering his Brazilian period- he scored 21 goals with Santos and 15 golas in 19 games with Cruzeiro-. This is a player with a lot of experience, because he played in the best Brazilian teams, in Girondins Bordeaux and Sporting Club of Portugal. These two good strikers have left in the bench a classical of the European football, Mateja Kezman, who is a good striker, but since he left Psv, he is unlucky, but anyway Sevilla´s defenders must pay attention if he is in the field, cause anytime he can score. The other strikers of Fenerbahçe are the young Colin Kazim-Richards (he was born in England, but he has Turkish nationality) and Ilhan Parlak, both under 21 players with Turkish national team. These 2 young strikers do not have many chances in Fenerbahçe and they usually play the last minutes of the games.

To Sump up,Fenerbahçe is a good team and we think that this round is 50-50 and the little details of Alex, Luis Fabiano, Kanoute, Jesus Navas or Deivid will decide which team will play the quarter final of the Champions League.

THE MARKET IS CLOSED

It is time to check the latest movements in the principal championships.

PREMIER LEAGUE

The protagonists are the strikers this last day, cause the english teams spent a lot of money in order to improve their offensive´s efficiency, buying “big” names as the new Middlesbrough´s striker, the brazilian Afonso Alves, who finally leaves the dutch league in order to prove that the Riverside´ s club is not wrong, paying 16 million euros for him-Nevertheless, we must pay attention to the news, because AZ Alkmaar affirms that Alves signed a contract with its and the dutch club wants a FIFA ´s decision about it-. Neither it seems clear the transfer of Benjani Mwaruwari (12 goals in 23 games) to Manchester City, since it can be problems with the documentation ( the papers arrived out of time) and the City can be without this great striker until next season and on the other hand Harry Redknapp, the Portsmouth´s manager, can have an impressive attack with Benjani, Milan Baros, Utaka, Kanu and Jermain Defoe, who just arrived from Tottenham Hotspurs-for me, it is a Juande Ramos ´s mistake, because Defoe is a formidable striker, with a big mobility and he can be the necessary striker for many game, but Juande has his ideas and he decided this departure. Ramos also decides the departures of Paul Stalteri and Anthony Gardner, since he wants to build a new defensive ´s line and yesterday he finished this task with the transfer of the brazilian left back Gilberto (another strange transfer, cause in the morning the player was not available according the doctors, but in the afternoon he was ok, it sounds an economical problem)-.
Finally, we must remark the signature of the veteran Finnish Jari Litmanen-he will play in Fulham- and the effort of the Derby County´s directors in order to try to have a competitive squad for the last games of the season and they signed experienced players like midfielders Robbie Savage, Laurent Robert or Mile Sterjovski; defender as Alan Stubbs or a keeper as Roy Carrol.

SERIE A and BUNDESLIGA
Finally, la Lazio has made the transfers that we waited in the last article; after it followed from Stendardo and Scaloni, this club has signed 2 defensive players, the midfielder Ousman Dabo-former laziale player durin 3 seasons- and the good an experienced central defender David Rozehnal -39 games with Check Republic´s national team- who will play on loan in Rome since next summer.
The other Italian movements are the return of 2 players to their former clubs, Makinwa leaves la Lazio in order to play in la Reggina and the unlucky Andrea Caracciolo comes back to Brescia to play in Serie B incomprehensibly, cause he is a good player but he has not many option in Marassi with aeroplannino Montella, Claudio Bellucci, Emiliano Bonazzoli and Antonio Cassano in the squad.

In the Bundesliga,we have news from Bremen, Berlin and Frankfurt.
The Werder Bremen´s acquisition is an offensive midfielder, Mesut Özil from Schalke 04 for 4,5 million euros (we will see if it can be a signal for the Diego´s future). Other german news is the arrive to the Herta Berlin of the left foot Rudolf Skacel, who is a Check Republic´s international player with an important experience in many leagues as: le championat, Greek league, Scottish and English championships. Finally, we should remark the signature of Evangelos Mantzios with Eintracht Frankfurt-he is a strong striker, 6 caps with Greek national team, but he was without the trust of Jose Peseiro, Panatinaikos ´s coach, who prefers to accompany Salpigidis, the Portuguese striker Helder Postiga and Manucho -Manchester United ´s new player-, who is playing very well in the African Cup with Angola.

OTHER LEAGUES

Maybe, one of the most important transfer during this winter happened last Thursday, when an excellent Chilean defensive midfielder, Claudio Maldonado, arrived to Turkey in order to play in Fenerbahçe during next 18 months-it is very strange this short duration, but anyway the rest of the top European teams should follow this player, cause this good player will be free- ( be careful with Fenerbahçe, cause this team can be very difficult to win in champions league´ round). But Fenerbahçe is not the only Istambul´s team with news, since Besiktas has signed a new central defender, Dino Dripic, from Croatia with an excellent play with his head.
In Spain, unfortunately we do not have many changes and the teams have signed players with low profile-bets for the future- as new Real Murcia´s midfielder Kabous, or Racing Santander´ young midfielder Damian Ismodes from Peru, or argentinian Marcos Aguirre, who signed with Real Valladolid, or Uruguayan Sebastian Eguren, who signed with Villarreal. Maybe the only thing that we can remark is the arrive on loan of Christian Wilhelmsson to Deportivo la Coruña and the situation of the Valencia´s player, since neither Albelda, neither Cañizares, neither Angulo signed for another club. This issue is very strange and we think that it is an owner´s decision against the players, because if Roland Koeman does not want these players-as he said -, the normal thing is that the club looks for a new club for them on loan in order to take a final decision in summer, after the Eurocup.
Finally, we should talk about the other important players, who changed the club these days like: the polish striker Matusiak-he returns to the Polish league after unlucky experience in Italy and Holland-, Jiri Jarosik, who leaves Celtic Park in order to play in Kryial Sovetov, Goran Gavrancic, who will be on loan in Paok Salonica , Alin Stoica and Luigi Pieroni, who return to Belgium to play with Excelsior Mouscron and Anderlecht, Ariza Makukula, who has signed with Benfica- we do not understand this transfer, cause Makukula has not a good level, as he show in Spain- or the Psg´s new players, Souza ( former Sao Paulo´s midfielder) and the young brazilian, Everton, who arrives from Corinthians.
Cheers,
