After the Champions League and Uefa Cup´s games during this week, now it is time to enjoy with the national leagues, where we can watch interesting games this weekend like the match between Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen (we will see the return of Franck Ribéry after his injury), or the game between AC Milan-SS Lazio (AC Milan will have a difficult match against the Scudetto´s leader, the team of Mauro Zarate and Goran Pandev), or the classic Dutch game between Feyenoord Rotterdam and Ajax Amsterdam, or of course the big game of the English Premier League, Chelsea FC against Manchester United at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday at 14-00 hours (British hour).

The truth is that we are keen to see the Scolari´s team play a match against a serious and hard opponent as the United is, since we want to see if Scolari is the correct coach for an important European team when he has a difficult European rival, since, as we said in other articles in this blog, we believe that Felipao is an overvalued coach and when his team plays against a powerful team, his team fails and it shows a very poor level-we have seen this Scolari´s “virtue” many times during his period as the coach of the Portuguese National team-. The truth is that Scolari, who has new assistant, Ray Wilkins (he returns to the London´s team after several years at Watford FC and at Millwall FC) -, will have many facilities to win this game against Manchester United, since Chelsea FC arrives to this Sunday´s game in a good moment after the easy Champions League´s game against Girondins Bordeaux (4-0), showing the midfielders´s line an excellent level-In fact, the Chelsea´s fans do not miss Mickael Essien(he suffered an important injury) and they are delight in Frank Lampard (he has scored 3 goals this season), Michael Ballack, Jon Mikel, Florent Malouda (he has scored 1 goal), Joe Cole (he has scored 2 goals this season)or Deco (he has scored 2).
Moreover, Manchester United is not in its best moment and “the Red devils” are desiring to recover the best Cristiano Ronaldo-although he returned to play on Tuesday against Villarreal, he needs more time in order to recover his best level and to endure 90 minutes-. In fact, United has only been able to win an official game this season (0-1 against Portsmouth) and it is showing difficulties to scorer goals-the team has only scored 3 goals in 6 official games this season, being this circumstance a proof that this team needs Cristiano Ronaldo, because without him, it is simply a good team, but nothing more. Besides the Cristiano Ronaldo´s dependence, Manchester United is also showing some defensive weakness (it has already received 5 goals in 6 games), since the team is suffering the absence of Michael Carrick and Owen Hargreaves- in fact Sir Alex Ferguson forced the Carrick´s return and then the player felt the effects of the injury and now he will injured until the end of October; we hope that this circumstance does not occur with Hargreaves-.
Moreover, if it were not already enough problems the Cristiano´s situation, the Carrick´injury and Dimitar Berbatov´s situation-he will not be 100% on Sunday-, Alex Ferguson will have another important setback, the excellent Serbian central defender Namanja Vidic will not play because he was sent off during the game against FC Liverpool. LA PREVIA DEL CHELSEA FC- MANCHESTER UNITED (This article will is available in English and Español)

Después de los partidos de Champions League y Uefa Cup de esta semana, las ligas nacionales vuelven con partidos interesantes como el Bayern Munich- Werder Bremen (el retornó de Franck Ribéry tras sufrir una importante lesión), AC Milan-SS Lazio(prueba de fuego del Milan contra el líder del Scudetto en el que destaca Mauro Zárate y Goran Pandev), el clásico holandés entre el Feyenoord Rotterdam y el Ajax de Amsterdam y especialmente con el plato fuerte de la Premier League Inglesa, Chelsea FC- Manchester United en Stamford Bridge el domingo a las 14-00 horas (hora inglesa).

Lo cierto es que tenemos muchas ganas de ver al Chelsea de Scolari jugar un partido contra un rival realmente serio y duro como es el United, ya que queremos comprobar como dirige Scolari a sus grandes jugadores ante un rival de entidad, pues, como dijimos en otros artículos de este blog, creemos que Felipao es un entrenador muy sobrevalorado y cuando se enfrenta a un equipo potente, defrauda y sus equipos muestran un nivel muy bajo y poco competitivo-con la selección Portuguesa lo hemos visto en muchas ocasiones-.
La verdad es que en esta ocasión a Scolari-que acaba de fichara como ayudante a Ray Wilkins(vuelve al equipo londinense tras unos años en el FC Watford y el en FC Millwall)-, lo va a tener todo bastante de cara, pues su equipo llega con la moral por las nubes tras su paseo militar contra el Girondins de Burdeos (4-0) y con un mediocampo que está mostrando un altísimo nivel-de momento no están notando la importante lesión de Mickaël Essien y los Lampard (ya ha marcado 3 goles está temporada), Ballack, Jon Mikel, Malouda (1 gol marcado), Joe Cole (ya ha marcado 2 goles esta temporada), Deco (2 goles marcados)están jugando a la perfección-.
Además Scolari se va a enfrentar a un Manchester United que no está en su mejor momento, esperando recuperar al mejor Cristiano Ronaldo-volvió a jugar este martes contra el Villarreal, pero todavía no creemos que esté en el nivel adecuado para aguantar 90 minutos-. De hecho, por el momento el United sólo ha sido capaz de ganar 1 partido oficial esta temporada (0-1 en campo del Portsmouth) y está mostrando un escaso olfato goleador-sólo ha marcado 3 goles en 6 partidos oficiales esta temporada-, con lo que es evidente que necesita a Cristiano Ronaldo, porque sin él, es simplemente un buen equipo, pero nada más. Además de la Cristiano dependencia, el United también está mostrando una cierta fragilidad defensiva (ha recibido ya 5 goles en 6 partidos oficiales), pues la ausencia de Michael Carrick y Owen Hargreaves se está notando-de hecho Ferguson se vio obligado a adelantar el retorno de Carrick y luego pasa lo de siempre, el jugador se resiente y ahora estará fuera de los terrenos de juego hasta finales de octubre; esperemos que no pase lo mismo con Hargreaves-. Además, si no fuera ya suficiente el problema de Crisitiano, la baja de Carrick y que Dimitar Berbatov jugará tocado, Ferguson tendrá otra ausencia importante, la del grandísimo central Nemanja Vidic que fue expulsado durante el partido contra el FC Liverpool.
Así pues, si Scolari no logra vencer al Manchester United en está ocasión, ya será para que se lo replantee y analice en qué falla.

FC Barcelona started a new difficult season, since this team has to show to the supporters an excellent level and many titles this season, since the supporters will not accept another horrible year during the Joan Laporta´s presidency.

After a turbulent summer-since we could see during this period many strange circumstances like vote of confidence against the FC Barcelona´s president, resignations of the important executives and management´s problems-, the president elected as the manager of the team Pep Guardiola, who, although his inexperienced as manager he will have the opportunity of his live and he will be the chief of the one of the more important team of the world´s sport.

The fans expected tactical changes and good new players after the Frank Rijkaard´s departure-he always was a polite man and he never criticized any thing about the situation of the club- and the Pep Guardiola´arrival was applauded for an important sector of the FC Barcelona´supporters. But finally, the announced “mopping up operation” planned by the President and Pep Guardiola is practically reduced to the departure-with a ridiculous price as we explained in other articles of this blog - of Deco and Ronaldinho and since these departures, on the one hand, the president signed new faces, who, more or less, transmit illusion to the fans and on the other hand, the manager, Guardiola, spoke about the game´s system, which is the same of other seasons, 4-3-3; so, we will see the same proposal of the other coaches influenced by the "great Johan Cruyff".

If we analyse each line of team, we can say:

FC Barcelona will have the same problem this season with the goalkeepers, because on the one hand, Victor Valdes is very irregular and we think that he is not the adequate goalkeeper if a team wants to have any important aspirations, and on the other hand, the other 2 goalkeepers are very unsecure too-Pinto showed a poor level last season when he played and Jorquera is still in this club, because he had an important injury last year and the club decided to “reward” this situation with a contract´s extension of one more year-.So this year will be another difficult year for FC Barcelona in this position.

About the defensive line, FC Barcelona has many new faces, since it bought the most expensive right back, the Brazilian Dani Alves (32 million euros), the slow Pique, who comes back after his Manchester United´s period and the “new Kaiser” Martin Caceres, who is a good player but in spite of his important price (16 million euros),Pep Guardiola continues with his wrong ideas and he does not trust in this player for the moment-we will see in the future, because for the moment FC Barcelona has many defensive problems, since on the other hand Alves does not find his place in the field and his uncontrolled attacks are a important advantage for the rival teams, whose forwards have many facilities in order to attack, because Alves “loses” his place. On the other hand, the unquestionable Carles Puyol does not feel at ease with the Piqué and he is waiting the return of Rafael Marquez-good player and he will have minutes although the club wanted his departure during the summer- and specially the return of the great Argentinian defender Gabriel Milito. Moreover, FC Barcelona has a big problem with the left back, because Guardiola does not want the Brazilian Silvinho and the play of Abidal is very poor-he played horrible against Racing Santander and of course he will not be in the squad this Tuesday against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League´s game-.

About the midfielders, FC Barcelona signed Seydou Keita -14 million euros when we think that Christian Poulsen was the necessary player for Barça (Juventus paid 10 million) - and now Yaya Toure does not have a place in the team-it is unfair, since this player played injured a lot of games last season when …and is this the price?; on the other hand Xavi keep ·the command”, Iniesta is playing as winger-we do not like this position for him-and the young Sergi Busquets is the solution of Pep Guardiola.

On the other hand, Pep stress the mistake with Thierry Henry, since the French striker wants to play as central striker and nor as winger, but Pep is Pep and if Pep thinks that this Henry´s position is the best solution for FC Barcelona, go on….by the way, Guardiola, what´s the matter with Samuel Eto´o? because you said that you do not want Eto´o, but Samuel is in the squad-FC Barcelona did not a find a club(neither Italian, neither English and neither Real Madrid wanted him) for him, will it be ok the relationship? I think that Eto´o will be another problem for FC Barcelona during this season, because he has the liberty to do anything (Laporta wanted this player) and of course he takes advantages of this situation-he was in Mozambique and Uzbekistan , while the rest of the FC Barcelona´s squad was training, or when he imposed the condition of no more “9” in the squad this season-of course the other member of the squad do not like this Eto´o situation-.

So, Laporta´s future will depend on the Guardiola´s job, which is a big risk, cause this coach is inexperienced, arrogant and haughty and even though he has a “protection” of the medias, he will fail and with him the president Laporta, whose bet on Guardiola is another mismanagement-he has a record when we speak about mismanagement-.

EL FC BARCELONA POST RIJKAARD (This article is available in English and Español)

Comenzó una nueva temporada para un equipo obligado, tras los últimos fracasos, a ofrecer un nivel alto de juego y una buena colección de títulos, con lo que de esta forma satisfacer a sus socios y simpatizantes, tan desencantados en los últimos años.

Tras un turbulento verano con mociones de censura, dimisiones de directivos importantes y demás problemas en la gestión, se optó porque el timón del equipo lo llevase Pep Guardiola y a partir de ahí se comenzó la planificación deportiva de la nueva temporada, una planificación en la que lleva la voz cantante Pep Guadiola, ese director de equipos inexperto pero protegido por la directiva, entorno y prensa.

El soci espera cambios tácticos y fichajes que aporten nivel al equipo, desde arriba se tira con bala contra el ex entrenador Frank, quien opta por el silencio y la educación que siempre le caracterizó, mientras tanto Pep comienza a mandar y las esperanzas se convierten en ilusiones para un gran sector del barcelonismo.
Pero al final, la gran limpia planificada por el Presidente y el “noi de Santpedor” prácticamente se ve reducida a la marcha regalada de las “dos cabezas de turco”, Ronaldinho y Deco-operaciones pésimamente realizadas como explicamos en otros artículos de este blog-y a partir de ahí, nuevas caras que más o menos ilusionan y a vueltas con el sistema de juego de Pep, que es el mismo del de otras temporadas, el 4-3-3, es decir la misma propuesta de los anteriores entrenadores desde que el “gran Johan” llegó al banquillo del Barça, ofreciendo “el noi” poquitas soluciones tácticas, más allá de jugar con tres defensas en algún partido con un resultado bastante negativo, la verdad.

Línea por línea:

La portería se mantiene con el irregular Víctor Valdés-no es el adecuado para un equipo que quiere tener aspiraciones importantes-, se renueva al veteranísimo e inseguro Pinto-menudas estadísticas como portero del FC Barcelona!- y se premia la lesión del discreto Jorquera-se le renueva un año más-; es decir, otro año más que el FC Barcelona no ha encontrado una solución para este posición, que va a ser uno de los puntos más débiles del equipo.

En defensa se incorpora al lateral más caro de la historia del fútbol Dani Alves (32 millones de euros), al hijo pródigo y lento Pique, al nuevo Kaiser Martín Cáceres -Pep sigue con sus ideas poco acertadas y prácticamente no cuenta con este buen defensa uruguayo (y eso que el FC Barcelona se gastó 16 millones de euros en el charrúa).
De momentos Pep está apostando por un lateral brasileño-Alves- que no encuentra su sitio y sus subidas descontroladas al ataque suponen una autopista por su banda para los contrarios; también apuesta por Carles Puyol (indiscutible)y dice contar con Rafael Márquez para la salida del balón (y eso que éste estuvo en la lista de transferibles)-aunque por el momento está siendo sustituido por Gerard Piqué- y con el rocoso pero torpe Abidal en la banda izquierda-su partido este sábado contra el Rácing de Santander fue horrendo-. Y como decimos de momento no encuentran sitio en la pizarra mágica de Pep ni Martín Cáceres-jugador de carácter- ni Silvinho. Y ahora esperan a Milito como agua de mayo, pues a pesar de todos estos nombres, el sistema defensivo hace aguas por todas partes y el trabajo táctico en esta parcela brilla por su ausencia y como estamos viendo partido tras partido se encajan goles con facilidad- a ver si hace algún cambio y le da un poco de vida el bueno de Caceres-.

En el centro del campo, se firma a Seydou Keita por 14 millones-cuando para nosotros el bueno era Christian Poulsen(la Juventus lo firmó por 10 millones)- y no se cuenta con Toure Yaya –y eso que se dejó la espalda y algo más en el tramo final de la anterior temporada cuando el club se lo jugaba todo-;Xavi mantiene sus merecidos galones, Iniesta es reconvertido a extremo y el joven canterano Sergi Busquets es la solución de Pep Guardiola.

En los extremos utiliza al posible mejor jugador del mundo actualmente, Lionel Messi, que “anda loco” ya que en el último mes ha tenido que soportar las instrucciones de tres entrenadores (Guardiola , Batista y Basile) y en estos momentos quizás aún no sabe a que debe de jugar en el “nuevo” Barça de Pep, que se ha inventado como solución para el primer equipo al joven Pedrito, que le falta experiencia y conocer los tempos del juego y quizás le sobra velocidad.
Por otro lado, Alexander Hleb no sabe donde está, todavía no tiene una posición determinada y su adaptación se antoja difícil y sobre todo ahora que cuando parecía que se estaba entonando un poco contra el Rácing, va y se lesiona durante 1 mes.

En cuanto a los delanteros hay que decir por un lado que parece que a Pep no le gusta Bojan Krkic, pues juega menos que con Rijkaard y siempre que lo hace, lo hace acelerado por la responsabilidad. Por otro lado, Pep insiste en colocar en la banda y “recuperarlo” para el fútbol a Thierry Henry, que es un jugador que se encuentra en la recta final de su carrera y que ha repetido una y mil veces, que su posición es la de delantero centro y no en banda, pero el “noi” es el “noi”, ése que dijo que no quería a Samuel Eto´o, pero que después de estar todo el verano buscándole una salida en clubes ingleses, italianos e incluso en el Real Madrid (donde el vestuario dijo NO), al final se ha quedado en Can Barça y Pep, le guste o no, tendrá que aceptar el concurso del camerunés, cuyos primeros pasos han sido por Mozambique y Uzbekistán “haciendo caja” mientras sus compañeros entrenaban- para justificarlo un par de “entrenitos” suaves y a otra cosa-(el camerunés no tardará mucho en armarla , ya manifestó el año pasado sus ganas de irse a un equipo campeón; pero de momento impone sus condiciones (no fichar otro jugador en su puesto ),garantizándose la titularidad).

En fin, Laporta ha ligado su futuro a Guardiola y éste muy listo lo sabe, sabe que no lo podrá cesar, porque sería su entierro como presidente, aunque de todas formas, creemos que el futuro de Laporta se presenta negro y corto, pues no creemos que dure mucho llevando el equipo este entrenador inexperto, arrogante, prepotente y con afán de protagonismo; un personaje que un día dejó al Club para empezar unas aventuras millonarias por Italia (Brescia), Qatar y México (con su querido Juanma Lillo) y que se presentó en la candidatura opositora a Laporta como director deportivo y que hoy tiene al club en sus manos y mucho me meto que fracasará a pesar de toda la protección periodística que tiene a su alrededor. Es decir, un lunar más-¿cuántos van ya?- en la mala gestión deportiva de Laporta (aquí Txiki Beguiristain-Mr Ruedas de prensa- es un convidado de piedra que recibe ordenes de silencio y poco más).
Veremos este martes lo que ocurre en el partido de Champions contra el Sporting de Lisboa, pues si el FC Barcelona ya pasó apuros contra el Numancia y el Rácing de Santander, qué podrá ocurrir este martes contra un equipo con buenos jugadores como el central brasileño Anderson Polga, el medio ruso Marat Izmailov, el argentino Leandro Romagnoli –qué lástima que sufriera una lesión muy grave, porque apuntaba muchísimo en su periodo en San Lorenzo de Almagro-, Joao Moutinho-buen medio centro- y delanteros como Derlei o Helder Postiga-aunque a nostros este último no nos convence mucho- y sobre todo Liedson-aunque en principio, por suerte para el FC Barcelona, no jugará por lesión-.

The followers of Saqueneutral know that one of our favourite sports is cycling, since we have devoted some articles to speak about the last Giro d'Italia and Tour de France and now it is time to write about this sport again, since we must speak about 2 returns:: the return of the legendary Lance Armstrong and the return to the Vuelta of Spain of the one most difficult mountains for the professional road racing cyclers, the impressive “Alto del Angliru”.

About the Armstrong´s return, we will have plenty of time to talk in the coming months, now simply we will say that obviously it is a great news for the cycling´s world, since it can help to many teams to find a sponsor for next year because all the world will pay attention next year about the Lance Armstrong´s results and to see whether or not Lance Armstrong will be at appropriate level after 3 years retired, if he will continue to transmit the same security and power during the race and whether or may not win his eighth Tour de France. In other words, it is expected an important audience during the next Tour de France and therefore it is quite possible that many companies want to be there, showing their makes and betting in this sport. CICLISMO: EL RETORNO DE ARMSTRONG Y DEL ANGLIRU (This article is available in English and Español)

Los seguidores de Saqueneutral sabéis que uno de nuestro deportes favoritos es el ciclismo, deporte al que le hemos dedicado diversos artículos con ocasión de los últimos Giro d´Italia y Tour de Francia y que ahora vuelve a la primera plana del mundo del deporte por 2 acontecimientos: el retorno del legendario Lance Armstrong y la impresionante etapa que nos espera este sábado en la Vuelta a España con la subida final al imponente Alto del Angliru.

Del retorno de Armstrong tendremos tiempo de sobra para hablar en los próximos meses, ahora simplemente comentar que evidentemente es una gran noticia para el mundo del ciclismo la vuelta de este mito ganador de 7 Tours de Francia y de 1 Campeonato del Mundo de Ciclismo, pues en unos tiempos complicados para una serie de equipos que buscan desesperadamente un patrocinador para el año que viene, este regreso les puede servir para que una serie de empresas decidan apostar por este deporte, que estará en boca de todos el próximo año, pues todo el mundo tendrá la curiosidad de comprobar si Lance Armstrong estará o no al nivel adecuado después de 3 años retirado, si seguirá transmitiendo la misma sensación de seguridad y poderío en carrera y si podrá o no ganar su 8º Tour de Francia. Es decir, que se espera una edición del Tour de Francia con una gran audiencia televisiva y por lo tanto es muy posible que muchas empresas quieran estar ahí publicitándose en ese “gran escaparate” que será el Tour 09, con lo que por el momento vemos al ciclismo como ganador claro de este regreso sonado. Sobre si Lance Armstrong estará o no capacitado para ganar el Tour de Francia, la verdad es que muy difícil dar ahora una opinión al respecto, pues creo que hay que esperar a verlo a partir de enero, cuando firme con un equipo profesional y poco a poco vaya compitiendo en carreras como el Tour de California; además también habrá que tener en cuenta el equipo con el que correrá, pues si lo hace en el Astana-lo más normal-, habrá que ver qué ocurre con corredores como Alberto Contador-ganador del Tour de Francia 07-, Levi Leipheimer y Andreas Klöden, pues habrá que ver si estos tres de magníficos ciclistas aceptan ser gregarios de Armstrong-de esta forma Lance eliminaría a 3 rivales durísimos- o si por el contrario no aceptan y cambian de equipo, convirtiéndose en 3 rivales temibles-sinceramente no creo que Lance con 38 años pueda ganar a estos 3 ciclistas-, con lo que lo mejor que se puede hacer es esperar un tiempo y ver poco a poco lo que va ocurriendo con el ciclista tejano.

El otro gran acontecimiento del mundo del ciclismo es el retorno a la Vuelta a España de uno de los puertos de montaña más duros del ciclismo profesional, el Alto del Angliru.
El Angliru es un puerto que aunque sólo se ha subido en 3 ocasiones-en 1999, en 2000 y en 2002-ya es uno de los míticos y junto al Mortirolo italiano es posiblemente el más duro del calendario ciclista pues si bien al mirarlo en conjunto no asusta-12,5 km al 9,9% de desnivel-, si nos centramos en los últimos 6 km de ascensión, sí que los porcentajes de desnivel producen escalofríos, pues durante esta parte final del puerto la pendiente media es del 13,5%, llegando incluso a tener durante 500 metros un desnivel del 23,5% !! en una zona conocida como La Cueñas les Cabres, que es el punto de mayor desnivel de todo el ciclismo mundial de competición y donde se promete un temible duelo entre los escaladores de la Vuelta a España y especialmente entre los 2 grandes del ciclismo español, el tercero clasificado de la Vuelta a España, Alberto Contador del equipo Astana (ganador del Tour de Francia 07 y el Giro d´ Italia 08) y el cuarto clasificado Carlos Sastre del equipo CSC-Saxo Bank (ganador del Tour de Francia 08) y sin que nos podamos olvidar de otros ciclistas que están rindiendo a un alto nivel en esta Vuelta como Levi Leipheimer del equipo Astana( 2º clasificado en la Vuelta), Ezequiel Mosquera del equipo Xacobeo Galicia o Igor Antón del equipo Euskaltel-Euskadi. En fin, un gran espectáculo el que se prevé para este sábado con esta subida final al Angliru, al que los ciclistas llegarán después de 200 km de carrera y después de haber subido 3 puertos de montaña de primera categoría-y además las previsiones indican que ese día lloverá-, es decir, una etapa durísima en la que creemos que el gran Alberto Contador será el vencedor (unirá de esta forma su nombre al de los otros grandes escaladores que ganaron en este puerto: el increíble e impredecible José María “El Chaba” Jiménez y los elegantes Gilberto Simoni y Roberto Heras) y tratará de conseguir una diferencia importante sobre sus rivales para de esta forma asegurar el triunfo final de la Vuelta a España y así entrar en el selecto grupo de ciclistas míticos (“El Canibal” Eddy Merckx, “L´Enfant Roi” Jacques Anquetil, “El Caimán” Bernard Hinault y “El Fénix” Felice Gimondi) que han ganado las “3”grandes: el Tour de Francia, el Giro de Italia y la Vuelta a España.

Barcelona-Valencia-Madrid (also available in Spanish)

This article is primarily for all those readers passionate about sport, both Spaniards and outside Spain, for highlighting the peculiarities of the Spanish sporting policy.

Obviously at football level would be easier to write this article. As many of you may know, Spain has two big teams which are Barca and Real Madrid, and then three or four teams that have historically trying to be at the same level of the first two but they have always failed, one of them is Valencia. We also need to emphasize the point that Madrid has been the clear dominator of the national and international scene in Spanish soccer, althought not free from political controversy, since in certain moments of the Spanish football history, and specifically at the stage of the Franco regime, Madrid received many helps in order to be the greatest team in Spain, among others, snatch the signing of Di Estafano to FC Barcelona. Anyway, and despite the other “forces” against culés (Barça supportes), Madrid has always been a winner and well above Barcelona, which has needed always give 120% to get their negrees. On the other handthey have an excellent supporters mass, very accurate and very understood (although somewhat boring!). For the American public, we could say that historically, Real Madrid would be like the NY Yankees and Barça like the Boston Red Sox.

But the article wanted to highlight aspects of sports whether in cities. How sport can be a showcase unrivaled promotion for cities. In this regard, Madrid has always been beholden to Barcelona, which historically has been the leading the city and a pioneer in all sports in Spain.
