PREMIER LEAGUE
The protagonists are the strikers this last day, cause the english teams spent a lot of money in order to improve their offensive´s efficiency, buying “big” names as the new Middlesbrough´s striker, the brazilian Afonso Alves, who finally leaves the dutch league in order to prove that the Riverside´ s club is not wrong, paying 16 million euros for him-Nevertheless, we must pay attention to the news, because AZ Alkmaar affirms that Alves signed a contract with its and the dutch club wants a FIFA ´s decision about it-. Neither it seems clear the transfer of Benjani Mwaruwari (12 goals in 23 games) to Manchester City, since it can be problems with the documentation ( the papers arrived out of time) and the City can be without this great striker until next season and on the other hand Harry Redknapp, the Portsmouth´s manager, can have an impressive attack with Benjani, Milan Baros, Utaka, Kanu and Jermain Defoe, who just arrived from Tottenham Hotspurs-for me, it is a Juande Ramos ´s mistake, because Defoe is a formidable striker, with a big mobility and he can be the necessary striker for many game, but Juande has his ideas and he decided this departure. Ramos also decides the departures of Paul Stalteri and Anthony Gardner, since he wants to build a new defensive ´s line and yesterday he finished this task with the transfer of the brazilian left back Gilberto (another strange transfer, cause in the morning the player was not available according the doctors, but in the afternoon he was ok, it sounds an economical problem)-.
Finally, we must remark the signature of the veteran Finnish Jari Litmanen-he will play in Fulham- and the effort of the Derby County´s directors in order to try to have a competitive squad for the last games of the season and they signed experienced players like midfielders Robbie Savage, Laurent Robert or Mile Sterjovski; defender as Alan Stubbs or a keeper as Roy Carrol.

Finally, la Lazio has made the transfers that we waited in the last article; after it followed from Stendardo and Scaloni, this club has signed 2 defensive players, the midfielder Ousman Dabo-former laziale player durin 3 seasons- and the good an experienced central defender David Rozehnal -39 games with Check Republic´s national team- who will play on loan in Rome since next summer.
The other Italian movements are the return of 2 players to their former clubs, Makinwa leaves la Lazio in order to play in la Reggina and the unlucky Andrea Caracciolo comes back to Brescia to play in Serie B incomprehensibly, cause he is a good player but he has not many option in Marassi with aeroplannino Montella, Claudio Bellucci, Emiliano Bonazzoli and Antonio Cassano in the squad.
In the Bundesliga,we have news from Bremen, Berlin and Frankfurt.
The Werder Bremen´s acquisition is an offensive midfielder, Mesut Özil from Schalke 04 for 4,5 million euros (we will see if it can be a signal for the Diego´s future). Other german news is the arrive to the Herta Berlin of the left foot Rudolf Skacel, who is a Check Republic´s international player with an important experience in many leagues as: le championat, Greek league, Scottish and English championships. Finally, we should remark the signature of Evangelos Mantzios with Eintracht Frankfurt-he is a strong striker, 6 caps with Greek national team, but he was without the trust of Jose Peseiro, Panatinaikos ´s coach, who prefers to accompany Salpigidis, the Portuguese striker Helder Postiga and Manucho -Manchester United ´s new player-, who is playing very well in the African Cup with Angola.
OTHER LEAGUES
Maybe, one of the most important transfer during this winter happened last Thursday, when an excellent Chilean defensive midfielder, Claudio Maldonado, arrived to Turkey in order to play in Fenerbahçe during next 18 months-it is very strange this short duration, but anyway the rest of the top European teams should follow this player, cause this good player will be free- ( be careful with Fenerbahçe, cause this team can be very difficult to win in champions league´ round). But Fenerbahçe is not the only Istambul´s team with news, since Besiktas has signed a new central defender, Dino Dripic, from Croatia with an excellent play with his head.
In Spain, unfortunately we do not have many changes and the teams have signed players with low profile-bets for the future- as new Real Murcia´s midfielder Kabous, or Racing Santander´ young midfielder Damian Ismodes from Peru, or argentinian Marcos Aguirre, who signed with Real Valladolid, or Uruguayan Sebastian Eguren, who signed with Villarreal. Maybe the only thing that we can remark is the arrive on loan of Christian Wilhelmsson to Deportivo la Coruña and the situation of the Valencia´s player, since neither Albelda, neither Cañizares, neither Angulo signed for another club. This issue is very strange and we think that it is an owner´s decision against the players, because if Roland Koeman does not want these players-as he said -, the normal thing is that the club looks for a new club for them on loan in order to take a final decision in summer, after the Eurocup.
Finally, we should talk about the other important players, who changed the club these days like: the polish striker Matusiak-he returns to the Polish league after unlucky experience in Italy and Holland-, Jiri Jarosik, who leaves Celtic Park in order to play in Kryial Sovetov, Goran Gavrancic, who will be on loan in Paok Salonica , Alin Stoica and Luigi Pieroni, who return to Belgium to play with Excelsior Mouscron and Anderlecht, Ariza Makukula, who has signed with Benfica- we do not understand this transfer, cause Makukula has not a good level, as he show in Spain- or the Psg´s new players, Souza ( former Sao Paulo´s midfielder) and the young brazilian, Everton, who arrives from Corinthians.
